Well hello Paris

June Fourteenth, 2012 –
Notre Dame

Locks on the Bridge by Notre Dame

Today we hopped on a train to Stuttgart and then another train just across the platform to Paris, France.  The total trip was about 5 or 6 hours and not too bad except for the fact that for some reason our luck with trains and no air conditioning is becoming quite common.  Also while we were on the train some little boy started following Brady around the train and then to our seats and just sat there looking at all of us looking bug eyed and quite intrigued.  We were not as intrigued as the boy to say the least when he started hitting Sumner and would not leave the lot of us alone.

Luckily we arrived in one piece in Paris and once we got here we went strait to the metro to find our way to the hotel.  The hotel is called L’ouest and is in the St. Lazare area.  After we settled into our rooms a few of us got a little food since we really hadn’t had much to eat all day.  Around 6:30 we all met to go to Notre Dame and see the outside of it and have Anoop show us some places to eat or go walk around.  I ended up being one of the last ones to leave and so Professor Tatum and I ended up getting separated from the rest of the group because it was a madhouse and apparently rush hour on the metro.  We ended up beating the group to Notre Dame, which should come as no surprise with the track record of the “group”.

After the group saw Notre Dame we ended up separating into small little groups and a few of us ended up going to Bar Les Pirates for a quick drink and then on to The Moose for a little food.  The Moose ended up being a Canadian/American bar since everyone pretty much spoke English in there and quite a bit of fun.  We got to watch Espania and The Republic of Ireland’s soccer match, which was a blow out, but a good game.  Everyone that hadn’t eaten yet got a little something and another beer to wash it all down.  Once the game was over we headed back to the hotel to get some rest for the bike ride in the morning.
